  To culminate in our fundraising efforts for the Shane Geoghegan Trust - the fundraising committee will be collecting around the city on the weekend of November 12th 2011,
When Munster take on Northampton Saints in Thomond Park, we will be around shaking buckets before and after the game so please give generously!!


We will also be collecting at Charity Gigs that weekend in the following venues....
Friday night - Dolan's
Saturday night - Bourke's
Sunday night - Nancy's

 


Mark @ Everest Base Camp in his Munster Jersey!

We're delighted to tell everyone that Mark
and everyone in his team,
had a successful summit on Saturday morning, May 21st,
just in time for sunrise!!

The Media have reported the following quotes;
'The Shane Geoghegan Trust today congratulated Limerick man Mark Quinn on becoming the youngest Irish person ever to climb Mount Everest.''
Mary Geoghegan, Shane’s mother, said: “On behalf of the Trust would like to extend
our congratulations to Mark and our sincere thanks to him for bringing
Shane’s memories to the top of the world.
“Mark has a wonderful back up team in Limerick and they should get immense congratulations
for all their work and support in getting Mark to achieve his lifetime dream”, Mary added.

This is the online base camp for Mark Quinn's expedition to Mt Everest March-June 2011.


Mark is supported in his endeavour to become the youngest Irish born person, at 27 years old, to summit Everest by local business', the Limerick Co-Ordination Office, Shannon Development and local councillors, as well as the 'Limerick to Everest' team made up of a group of Limerick's most energetic and professional fundraisers.
The fundraising crew are currently liasing with local, national and international business in order to secure funding for the expedition and to raise funds for The Shane Geoghegan Trust.

Our final collections for the campaign at the three gigs and bucket collections before/after the rugby match

October 2011
The 6th Annual Prom, organised by Great Friday Events, was held in the Strand Hotel, with a great turn out to support the 30000ft for Shane Campaign

Friday June 17th
Mark was honoured by the Mayor, Cllr Maria Byrne at a Civic Reception at City Hall

Sunday June 5th
Mark's flight landed at Shannon Airport to a great crowd of well wishers, family & friends

May 27th
Back in Kathmandu, after a few days travelling from ABC to Base Camp

May 21st
Successful summit in time for sunrise!

30/03 - Mark's first report in
27/03 - Mark flying from Shannon, to London, to Doha, to Kathmandu.
21/03 March - Table Quiz in the Woodfield House Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick. Thanks to everyone that came and supported Mark - the bonus Everest questions were tough ones!
19 & 20/03 - Mark did the 36 hour endurance challenge of climbing Carrauntoohil, Galtymore, Moylussa and Croagh Patrick.
13/03 - Mark did a triple climb of croagh patrick last sunday - while there he met mountaineering legend Ian McKeever!
Mark headed off on a six day on a winter survival course in Cairngorms, Scotland.

Valentine's Day was celebrated on the top of Galtymore with the Crescent College Comprehensive Transition Year Students, Teachers & some of the Fundraising Crew.
